On a sticky Saturday afternoon, Jeremy and I braved the dense NYC air to explore the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene. After perusing vendors upon vendors of carefully curated vintage clothing and drooling over Flea staples like grilled cheese from Milk Truck and refreshing frozen juice confections at People’s Pops, we headed to Fort Greene park where we decided to take some photos showcasing some new pieces I had picked up at a Bleecker St. vendor market a few weeks prior. While the studded jean shorts were a bit out of my comfort zone, I was reluctantly convinced to try them on, so of course, they were a perfect fit. I have since returned to the market several times & picked up the gold-plated armor ring shown below and an orange leather, gold-studded double wrap watch that I envision becoming my go-to accessory come Fall.
After “hiking” (relative to our usual city walking) our way through Fort Greene park, we decided to stroll through a smaller market near Jeremy’s apartment. The Dekalb Market was quite a different scene. Live music played in the center surrounded by a very engaged crowd enjoying their food vendor specialties (mainly some tantalizing BBQ and deeply southern inspired eats). Naturally, Jeremy and I found an ice cream & cupcake vendor and decided to split a refreshing yet rich brownie cookie ice cream sandwich (pictured below). It was the perfect treat to end a perfect day in Brooklyn.
